Diplomas are exciting and innovative new qualifications for 14-19 year olds. 

The diploma is an alternative to the more traditional education and learning.  They will contain practical as well as theoretical learning, which will help prepare young people for further and higher education, as well as the skills and workledge for lifelong employability.

The first phase of diplomas will be introduced in 2008 and will include the following areas:

  • Construction and the Built Environment
  • Engineering
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Creative and Media
  • Society, Health and Development

The second phase of diplomas will be introduced in 2009 and will include the following areas:

  • Business Administration and Finance
  • Environmental and Land Based Studies
  • Hair and Beauty
  • Hospitality and Catering
  • Manufacturing and Design
