The diploma of higher education (Dip HE) is a two year course, which in theory is equivalent to the first two years of a degree course, with the option of continuing with further study to degree level. They are accredited professional qualifications and are highly respected by employers both in the UK and overseas.
Some professional courses such as the Diploma in Nursing also award a Dip HE, as do other subjects such as: accounting, construction, engineering, science, technology and textile design.
Entry qualifications tend to be lower than for degrees - check HE prospectuses for the specific details of each institution.

The 2008/09 version of the Help4teens CD is now available. Each Year 9 and 11 student will receive a copy of the CD through their Connexions Personal Adviser.
