"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" - you've probably heard this saying loads of times and thought nothing more about it.  It is actually true, as you've got to remember your body has gone without food since the night before - that's a long time!

Right Kinds of Food

  • Try to include five portions of fruit and vegetables in to your daily diet.  Remember that fruit juices or dried fruit can also count!
  • Starch - starchy foods include bread, pasta, potatoes, rice etc.  These can provide your body with much needed energy and are also high in fibre (need I say any more on that subject!)
  • Sugary/Fatty Foods - try and eat these types of food in moderation, as they are particularly high in calories.  Sugary foods including sugary drinks can also damage your teeth.
  • Combination of range of foods into your diet - in order for your body to get all the nutrients and vitamins it needs, you should include a range of different foods in to your regular diet!
