Many young people of compulsory school age have part time jobs. However, there are are certain restrictions (as set by Durham County Council) and it is important to be aware of what you can and cannot do.
Under the age of 16, there is no minimum wage protection. You can check the latest national minimum wage rates by visiting the link to the national minimum wage information (below).

The 2008/09 version of the Help4teens CD is now available. Each Year 9 and 11 student will receive a copy of the CD through their Connexions Personal Adviser.
You can now find out about open days and events offered by schools, colleges and other learning providers by using the Events Diary available on the area wide prospectus.
