The closing date for the receipt of an application form is 15th January in the year you will start in higher education (HE). You can apply from 1st September.
If you are applying to Oxford or Cambridge the closing date is 15th October.
All medical, dental and veterinary applications must also be received by 15th October.
Note:
Some universities require you to pass an admissions test in addition to your qualifications if you apply for certain courses e.g.
See the 'Interviews and Tests' section of this website, as well as visiting the UCAS website for further information about these and other tests plus deadlines.
If you apply late it will be much more difficult to get a place. UCAS will send your application to the university or college but they don't have to consider your application.
The earlier you apply, the more the institutions are likely to consider your application. Try to apply earlier than the January deadline.
UCAS Extra
If you don't have an offer and you have used all five choices, UCAS Extra allows you to have an additional choice. You don't have to wait until Clearing to find a place. UCAS Extra operates from mid March until June.
University and college vacancies will be listed on the UCAS website and you can apply electronically through UCAS Track for these vacancies.
