Personal Advisors in One Point  

Personal Advisers are part of the One Point in County Durham. They are qualified Careers Advisers whose role is to work with you to overcome barriers and identify your strengths and abilities to help you develop realistic plans for your future.

The One Point Service is countywide and based in ten centres and a number of outreach locations. Advisers also have the flexibility to see you in a location in your community.

  • Personal Advisers within One Point are able to work with you if you require extra support because of your circumstances; such as if you:
    • have issues which could prevent you from doing well in school need support to plan for in Education Employment or Training
    • are looked after or have recently left care
    • are pregnant or young parent
    • have been in trouble with the police or are supported by the Youth Offending Service
    • are homeless or at risk of losing your home
    • are a carer for a parent, grandparent or sibling

  • When they work with you the One Point Personal Adviser may:
    • interviewing you one-to-one or in small groups
    • help you plans for work experience, employment, careers, education, training, qualifications, etc.
    • help with CV, applications, job hunting and interview techniques;
    • provide information on the labour market

The personal adviser may also work with you family and other professional in the One Point Service as part of a wider package of support.
