National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides free and impartial careers information, advice and guidance to anyone aged 18+.

We deliver across the whole of the North East from our 4 shop fronts in Bishop Auckland, Middlesbrough, Peterlee and Felling, there are also advisers co-located in every Job Centre. We also deliver peripatetically from community venues such as libraries and also from a wide range of partner premises.

Customers can access the service by phoning the national call centre on 0800 100900, asking their work coach for an appointment or phoning one of the local offices. The National Careers Service website has a huge range of support and information, including local pages which highlight local labour market information. All of our 70+ advisers are qualified to a minimum level 4 in IAG and many hold the level 6 qualification

You can phone direct to an adviser on 0800 100 900 or complete an online form to request that an adviser calls you back.  Calls are free.. NB If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech difficulties, you may choose to use e-mail to contact your adviser, but you can also contact a Connexions direct adviser using the textphone. The number for this is 08000 968 336.
