Depending on your age you have certain rights and repsonsibilities.. some can be exciting such as learning to drive and some you will need to know for your own personal benefit. Read on to learn more or click the links below to be directed to more specific information...

► Your under 14  

► You can be convicted of a criminal offence if it is proved you are aware that your were doing something seriously wrong

► Your 14  

► Your can go in a pub but you can’t buy or drink alcohol there!
► You can work part time, with some restrictions
► You can be convicted of a criminal offence as you are considered to be fully responsible for your own actions

► Your 16  

► You can live by yourself as long as certain conditions are met
You can ride a 50cc moped
► You can apply for your own passport
► You can get married with your parent or guardians consent
► You can have a full time job after the last Friday in June of your final year at school
►If you’re a boy can join the armed forces with your parent or guardians consent
► A girl can legally have sex
► You can have an abortion with your parents consent
► A boy can consent in a homosexual act if he and his partner are over 16
► You can have a beer or cider whilst eating a meal in a restaurant
► You can do the lottery
► You can pilot a glider if you want to!

► Your 17 

You can get a licence to drive most vehicles
► You can pilot a plane!
► You can emigrate
► You can be tried before an adult court 
► A care order can no longer be made on you 

► Your 18 

► You’re an adult now! At least in the eyes of the law
► You can get married
You can vote
► You can buy and drink alcohol in a bar
► You can buy cigarettes
► You can open a bank account in your name without a parent or carer’s signature
► You can change your name
► You can be sued
► You can bet
► You can have a tattoo
► You can buy fireworks
► You can be called to serve on a jury
► You can ask to see your birth certificate if you are adopted
