► Foundation Learning
Foundation learning is for young people over the age of 14 who are working at Entry level or level 1. It is one of the Pathways in Learning (click here to see diagram) alongside GCSEs, Diplomas and Apprenticeship.
If you are a foundation learner you will study Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT, You will also follow a vocational/subject course (work related) which builds up skills and knowledge. Personal and Social Development is another important area of study in Foundation Learning
If you are a foundation learner you will study personalised credit based units which can lead to full qualifications at Entry level, level 1 with the opportunity to progress to level 2 and further.
