Volunteering can be a great way to do something for your local community and can also give you experience and meet new friends. It will enhance your CV and help you build skills for future jobs and situations. You can volunteer for many different types of organisations such as animal welfare, sports, arts and heritage and with other young people. You could arrange to do some volunteering on a weekend, during summer or even take a gap year. Volunteering abroad can be really rewarding and a great challenge. Often you will have to pay for your own travel and some volunteering organisations will ask for a sum of money to fund you whilst your doing the placement. You should always check what you will need and how the organisation will support you whilst volunteering abroad. There are lots of opportunities out there!
