► Using the Rolodex to find the Information you need
The rolodex is an easy way to find out about where in the Careers Library you can find information on jobs and careers.
The first page of the rolodex shows you the colour coding system each colour is linked to a letter from B-Y.
Each colour/letter covers a single Job Family; this is a group of jobs which are in a single employment ’sector’, for example: all jobs and careers in Health is green and letter J.
Each section of the rolodex has coloured pages and codes which link to types of jobs the codes can have up to 3 letters depending upon how the detailed the information is. For example:
► Job Family B is for the Armed Forces
► Code B is General Information about working in the Armed forces
► Code BAB is information on the Royal Navy and Royal Marines
► All specific jobs within the Navy will have the BAB code
► Every different piece of information related to a single job will have a number code.
You use the rolodex to find the code that you are looking for and then go to the binder in your careers library and you will find the individual pieces of information.
► Using the A-Z Index to find the Information you need
The job types are listed in Alphabetical order and beside this is the code where you can find more information in the Careers Library. Please click on the pages below to browse the A-Z Index or download the pdf below that.
