► Bereavement     

This is when someone close to you dies whether this be your friend, parent, grandparent or girl/boyfriend. This affects people is different ways but there is a lot of help out there to help you deal with it. If you are experiencing this or know someone else who is you can use the advice links below or speak to someone such as your teacher, someone close to you or a Connexions advisor.

► Isolation     

Sometimes you might feel alone or uncared for whether that be at home or at school. Your parents may have just separated or you might have gone back to school after an illness and all you mates have moved on and are not really interested in you anymore. You must remember your not the only one and there is always someone there to help. You could try talking to a teacher if you can’t talk to anyone at home or there are lots of places that can help aswell.

► Domestic Violence     

You should never feel unsafe in your home. Domestic Violence makes a home become a frightening place. It is when an adult you live with harms another adult in your home. This can be physical, sexual or emotional. No one should have to put up with this and if you see this happening you should talk to someone you trust. Below is a list of useful places you can contact if you feel you or someone else in your family is in danger.

► Racism     

Racism is when people get treated differently or unfairly because they belong to a different race or culture or their religious beliefs or nationality. This can occur in different ways such as being teased, bullied, hit or your possessions being damaged. It can leave victims feeling isolated and scared but it is against the law and is morally unacceptable so if you witness Racism or feel you are a victim of Racism you should report it or tell someone you trust.
