► What are you studying at school?
I am on a Foundation Learning Pathway which combines work experience with lessons in school. On Monday I go to the school farm at Fyndoune Community College where I am studying a foundation land based course. We learn about agriculture and care of farm animals. Other parts of the course are about plants, trees and how to grow them, etc.
Every Tuesday Cameron as part of my work based learning course, I do an extended work placement; at the moment this is at Hall Hill Farm. I really enjoy the practical work!
► How did you pick your options?
I didn’t see my Personal Adviser Joanne when I was picking my options but my teachers talked to me about the right course and level for me. I have seen Joanne several times in year 10 and 11 as she comes into some of my key skills lessons.
► What Qualifications do you hope to get?
I have already achieved my level 1 in the Land Based Studies and am working towards level 2; I have completed the Asdan Bronze Award and hope to get Silver as well. I am doing a NVQ level 1 in Customer service, a Certificate of Personal Effectiveness and hope to do a level 1 in Employability. I am also taking wider key skills at Level 1in : Working with others, Problem solving, and Improving my own learning.
► What are you plans for the future?
I really like working with the animals and would like to go into farming.
