If you are choosing your options and are thinking about a diploma or when you are ready to plan for your choices after year 11 the County Durham Area Wide Prospectus will help you. You can find the prospectus under the yellow Post it note logo on our pages...
You will be able to look at all the schools, colleges and work-based learning providers in County Durham and search for of GCSEs, BTECs, A Levels, work based learning and Diplomas. You can get information on the course content, entry requirements, start date and much more. Each user can set up a basket to in which you can save favourite courses: the My Courses section. You might want to talk to your Connexions Personal Adviser, school or family about your choices.
One extra feature of the Prospectus is a transport planner to look at travel options and journey times so you can look at how you will get there.
► Make an application for a course online...
Once you have chosen your courses and checked to make sure they are right for you by talking to your Personal Adviser, Head of Year or teacher you can make an online application. You will be given a secure password or "unlock code" in school or by Connexions. This is unique to you and will give you access to the application area of the site. You will then be able to complete an online application form and it will be sent electronically to the course providers. Using the My Courses area you will be able to see how your applications are progressing. You can also send e-mails to the course provider if you have any questions, receive your invitation to interview and offer of a place ….all electronically.
